PROGRAM DETAILS :

1 Day 1 : Marrakesh – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazat – Rose valley – Dades gorges

The road trip would start by driving towards Kasbah Ait-Benhaddou via the highest pass in Africa Tizi N’ Tichka (Altitude 2260 m ) while enjoying the fabulous views of the giant High Atlas Mountains with the beauty of the Berber villages. The journey continues its way to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou which is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River, Such a stunning example of southern Moroccan architecture has been used a lot as a backdrop for international famous movies. Visitors with their guide “s” pass by Ouarzazate one major Berber city in southern Morocco known as the Hollywood of Africa and by the rose valley and overnight would be spent in a hotel in the Dades Gorges.

2 Day 2 : Dades gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (Desert camp)

After breakfast in the selected hotel, visitors and the guide(s) leave the Dades gorges heading to Todra gorges Gorge via Tinghir and the lush valley of Todra where you – the visitors- would be expected to have a short hike along the narrow and high cliffs of Todra. Afterward, the journey continues its way to Merzouga via the exciting stony desert, and the palm grove of Erfoud (capital of the fossils and the best qualities of natural dates) and Rissani which is known for its traditional market in the south. In the afternoon we arrive at Merzouga desert where visitors get ready, accompanied of course by a camel guide, to go for an authentic camel trek experience of utmost one hour and a half where they could catch the sunset in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend a memorable night enjoying serenity and calmness while looking at a numerous of shiny stars and enjoying a Berber dinner. At last, the sleep is to be in traditional nomadic tents.

3 Day 3 : Exploring the regions of the Sahara-Merzouga

After getting up early and seeing the sunrise, visitors would ride their camels going back to their hotel for taking a shower and eat breakfast. Afterward, we take our 4×4 to drive around the mystic Erg Chebbi dunes and stop for tea with a nomadic desert family and get to know their simple life. Then resume to visit “Khamlia” a small village inhabited by black people to listen to their traditional Gnawa music, then another visit is to be paid to “Rissani” to bustle and bargain in its traditional Souk, visit some of the Kasbah and Ksour –fortified villages- in the area and have lunch with our family and friends. Free afternoon in the desert and overnight would be spent in our hotel.

4 Day 4 : Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Errachidia – Midelt

After having breakfast in the desert, the journey continues its way to the next pause to take some memorable photos of the colorful Ziz valley with the green palm trees in the so-called Dra Tafilalt Oasis – the largest one in Morocco- and then the trip keeps driving towards “Midelt”, the city which is located between the two ranges of the Atlas Mountains and which is known of its farms of apples. Overnight would be spent in a hotel in Midelt.

5 Day 5 : Midelt – Azrou – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez

After having breakfast, the journey would cross the forest of the cedar trees in the Middle Atlas Mountains where visitors could have a chance to feed the wild monkeys in their natural habitat. After one hour's drive, the journey group gets to Meknes – the imperial city- known by the Ismaili capital since it was the royal capital of Morocco in the 17th century during the reign of King Ismail. Sultan’s mausoleum is still in place as one of the great attractions in the city today. The vibe of Meknes is quite laid back in comparison to Rabat and Marrakech, so it’s a good option if visitors are looking for a more relaxed Moroccan city break. It’s also a great base for visiting the ruins of Volubilis, a fascinating and partly excavated Berber/ Roman city consider the capital of Ancient Mauretania.
In this city, visitors would explore the square entertained by storytellers, musicians, and snakes, etc, also visitors could see the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Granary, Sahrij Souani basin and the famous Gate of Bab Mansour. After a nice visit to Meknes, the journey is to head to Fez where the tour ends. Arrival and drop off at your accommodation approx at 05:00 pm.
