This 9 Days around Morocco from Casablanca is devoted to visiting the four Moroccan imperial cities and their interesting monuments, Souks, Gardens, palaces, mosques, and more. It also includes enjoying a visit to the lovely Ouzoud Waterfalls which are the highest of their kind in North Africa. Going back home with a bunch of unforgettable memories is an absolute fact.
Visitors would be cordially welcomed by one of our team as soon as they arrive at the airport. We will be driving through the high way to Meknes. Relax and enjoy the square of the city. Overnight would be at the heart of the medina in Meknes.
Following breakfast, our journey begins by exploring Meknes – one of the imperial cities -. Meknes is known by the Ismaili capital since it was the capital of Morocco in the 17th century during the reign of King Ismail. In this city, visitors will explore the famous square – called Lahdiim- entertained by storytellers, musicians and snake charmers. Visitors will also see the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Granary, the -Sahrij Souani- basin and the famous Gate of Bab Mansour, then we continue to “Volubilis”. It is a Roma ruin dated back to the 3 century BC where visitors will see the most eye-catching mosaics in Morocco. Arrival early evening to Fez and overnight in a Riad.
Visitors accompanied by the local guide would start by walking in the narrow alleys of the Medina, the Royal Palace, the journey continues to visit El-Attarine Souks where the craftsmen offer the visitor non-stop spectacles. Leaving El-Souk through the gate with its green decoration and blue fences, moving towards the amazing Moroccan Museum with its marvelous contains Art; then optional lunch at El-Medina. Next is to pay a visit to the new city in the afternoon. Overnight would be in Fes.
On the way to Merzouga desert, there many places that deserve a pause, the journey would start by exploring the green Middle Atlas Mountains and visiting Ifran or Switzerland of Morocco as often referred to by Moroccans because of its magical beauty. Afterward, the journey would continue its track to Midelt via the forest of the cedar trees where visitors will have a chance to feed the wild monkeys in their natural habitat. Then we will continue to take pictures of the landscape of Ziz valley with its numerous palm trees enclosed between the high Atlas Mountains. Afterward, the journey continues its way to Merzouga via the exciting stony desert, and the palm grove of Erfoud (capital of the fossils and the best qualities of natural dates) and Rissani which is known for its traditional market in the south. In the early afternoon, visitors get ready and accompanied by a camel guide to go for an authentic camel trek experience of around one hour and a half where they could catch the sunset in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend a memorable night with numerous of glittering stars, enjoy a Berber dinner, other stuff and sleep in a traditional nomadic tent.
After getting up early and seeing the sunrise, visitors would ride their camels going back to their hotel for taking a shower and eat breakfast. Afterward, we take our 4×4 to drive around the mystic Erg Chebbi dunes and stop for tea with a nomadic desert family and get to know their simple life. Then resume to visit “Khamlia” a small village inhabited by black people to listen to their traditional Gnawa music, then another visit is to be paid to “Rissani” to bustle and bargain in its traditional Souk, visit some of the Kasbah and Ksour –fortified villages- in the area and have lunch with our family and friends. Free afternoon in the desert and overnight would be spent in our hotel.
After having breakfast, the journey would head to Todra Gorge via the exciting stony desert, the palm trees of Rissani which is known for its traditional market in the south and Erfoud (capital of the fossils and best qualities of dates). The next destination would be Todra Gorge via Tinghir and the lush valley of Todra where visitors would have a short hike along the narrow and high cliffs of Todra. Visitors would also explore the amazing scenery of the valley of one thousand Kasbahs with its unusual rock formations that are known by Dades valley. Overnight will be in a hotel in the Rose valley.
Following breakfast in the Rose valley, the journey is to be resumed to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou. The latter is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River, this beautiful example of southern Moroccan architecture has been used as a backdrop for several famous movies. Afterward, the journey would be resumed towards Marrakech via the highest pass in Africa Tizi N’ Tichka (Altitude 2260 m ) while enjoying the marvelous views of the giant High Atlas Mountains with the panoramic Berber villages. Drop off in your accommodation in Marrakech at 05:00 pm approximately where the tour ends.
After having breakfast, visitors will have a full-day tour of Marrakech with a local guide around the city ramparts and labyrinth places. Visitors will visit the Koutoubia Minaret, the Majorelle Gardens, the 16th century Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Palace museum of jewelry, kaftans, leatherwork, carpets, chests, and doors. The whole night would be spent in the same accommodation.
