This 4-day desert tour begins in Fes and ends in Marrakech, which you will spend 1 night in a hotel at dunes foothills and another in a luxury desert camp in the heart of Sahara. We will also visit Khamlia village to enjoy live Gnawa music, Nomads Ait Ben Haddou, Todra and Dades Gorges, and Ouarzazate.
These four 4 days trips would begin by exploring the green Middle Atlas Mountains and visiting Ifran or Switzerland of Morocco as often referred to by Moroccan themselves. Afterward, the next destination is Midelt via the forest of the cedar trees where visitors could have a chance to feed the wild monkeys in their natural habitat. Then continue to take pictures of the gorgeous Ziz valley of palm trees that are enclosed between the high Atlas Mountains. Arriving at Erfoud, Overnight would be spent at the hotel.
After having breakfast, the journey would continue its way from “Erfoud” enjoying the sceneries of the noticeable stony desert, the blue sky, the green palm trees, then the next destination is Rissani which is far from Erfoud just about 20 kilometers to bustle and bargain in its traditional Souk –market-, later on, visit some of the Kasbah and Ksours – fortified villages- in the Area head to Merzouga. A stop would take place for lunch with a Berber family. In the early afternoon, visitors get ready –accompanied of course by a camel guide- to go for an authentic camel trek experience of around one hour and a half where they could catch the sunset in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend a memorable night with millions of shining stars, enjoy a Berber dinner, and ultimately sleeping in a traditional and well-prepared nomadic tent.
After seeing the beauty of sunrise at dawn, visitors would ride their camels going back – accompanied by their guide- to their hotel for taking a shower and eat breakfast, and head to Todra gorges Gorge via Tinghir and the lush valley of Todra where they could have a short hike along the narrow and high cliffs of Todra. Visitors would also seize the opportunity to explore the amazing scenery of the Dades valley with its unusual rock formations which are known as the valley of one thousand Kasbahs. Overnight would be spent in a hotel in the Rose valley.
Following breakfast in the Rose valley, the journey continues to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou. The latter is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River, this beautiful example of southern Moroccan architecture has been used as a backdrop for several famous movies. Afterwards, the journey would be resumed towards Marrakech via the highest pass in Africa Tizi N’ Tichka (Altitude 2260 m ) while enjoying the marvelous views of the giant High Atlas Mountains with the panoramic Berber villages. Drop off in your accommodation in Marrakech at 05:00 pm approximately where the tour ends.
